IRVING, Texas – Admit it: At some point you had daydreams of the Cowboys signing Eric Berry to shore up their safety, Olivier Vernon to bring the pass rush and Alshon Jeffery to run alongside Dez Bryant in free agency.
It’s a heck of a daydream, especially if there weren't a salary cap. And especially if teams didn’t have the right to use franchise and transition tags.
On Tuesday, Berry and Jeffery were given the franchise tags by the Kansas City Chiefs and Chicago Bears, respectively.
