FRISCO -- Cowboys defensive tackle David Irving played 41 snaps against the Washington Redskins on Oct. 21.
He hasn't played in a game since.
Irving suffered a high ankle sprain during practice on Nov. 1 and has been rarely seen around The Star over the last two months.
The injury and off-the-field issues have been the reason for his absence. While it appears Irving won't make a return this season, the Cowboys continue to keep him on the roster.
Why?
"I just think the biggest thing you try and do with a player like that is a day-by-day process and hopefully he's getting better and better," Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Thursday.
