Why does Cowboys owner Jerry Jones give so many second chances?

Jerry Jones has a reputation of giving more second chances than any other NFL owner.

This has again become a topic of discussion in Dallas with Rolando McClain remaining on the Cowboys roster despite receiving a 10-game suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.

So why does the Cowboys owner and general manager continue giving out additional opportunities to players most teams would not?

"I've had nine lives in my life," Jones recently said on Colin Cowherd's show The Herd. "And I had it principally with my father. When I walked out the door, my father would give me the riot act.
