OXNARD, Calif. – Arguably the Cowboys’ most important offseason goal was getting defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli more to work with up front. That was immediately addressed by signing Greg Hardy and drafting Randy Gregory.
During his time in Tampa Bay and Chicago, Marinelli was looking for a seven-man rotation along the defensive line. With this Cowboys group, he’s working to find his best eight.
If healthy, six appear to be locked in.
Greg Hardy, Tyrone Crawford, Jeremy Mincey, DeMarcus Lawrence, Nick Hayden and Randy Gregory are constantly rotating with the first-team unit. At the moment, the other two spots are up for grabs between Terrell McClain, Jack Crawford, Ben Gardner, Davon Coleman and Ken Bishop.
