What WR Deonte Thompson still needs to show to earn a spot on the Cowboys' final roster

FRISCO -- Indications are that many of the Cowboys' first-teamers won't see action in Sunday's preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals.

That includes quarterback Dak Prescott, considering much of the starting offensive line won't be available.

But what team owner Jerry Jones does still want to see more of is the overhauled receiving corps, particularly newcomers Deonte Thompson and Tavon Austin. They were brought in to improve the speed on the field, but have been slowed by injuries. Thompson missed most of training camp to an injured Achilles, and Austin has dealt with hamstring tightness.

Both could see time Sunday at AT&T Stadium after returning to practice.
