'We're starting to click': How Dak Prescott, Cowboys WRs are progressing in one particular area of importance

OXNARD, Calif. -- Dak Prescott's deep passes didn't look so hot during the first couple weeks of training camp. Errant timing or short placement meant the ball often landed in the turf instead of receivers' hands.

So, of course, the Cowboys starting quarterback delivered a perfectly placed 30-yard touchdown pass downfield to rookie receiver Michael Gallup to cap the only series Prescott played in last week's preseason opener at San Francisco.

But it wasn't a "take that!" moment as much as confirmation that progress is being made. Prescott and the Cowboys entered camp knowing the deep ball -- or 9 route -- needed work.
