One of the big training camp battles that was widely headlined for the Dallas Cowboys was QB Trey Lance competing with QB Cooper Rush for the team’s backup position. After the team traded a fourth-round pick for Lance last season, it felt like he could take the time under veteran QB Dak Prescott to improve his game, and eventually be the backup on the team.
