Trevon Diggs’ odds for winning Comeback Player of the Year have improved

The Associated Press, the news agency that governs the primary awards for every NFL season, has announced new criteria for Comeback Player of the Year. This shift is noteworthy to Dallas Cowboys fans as one of your favorites, CB Trevon Diggs, could be a contender for this honor in 2024.

Historically, the comeback player has gone to someone who returned from a major injury or some other adversity the previous year and had a great season. Alex Smith in 2020 is a classic example; gruesome 2018 leg injury in Washington, missed all of 2019 recovering, but then defied the career-ending projections and returned to go 5-1 as a starter.
