FRISCO, Texas -- Looking back, the Dallas Cowboys got it right with center Travis Frederick.
But on draft night, 2013, it sure seemed odd that they would pass on a player ranked fifth on their draft board in defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd to trade down from No. 18 to pick 31st overall in a deal with the San Francisco 49ers.
With the move to the 4-3 defense favored by then defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin, Floyd seemed to check all the boxes wanted in the under tackle spot. At least that's what the Cowboys thought by having him so high on the draft board.
