Tony Romo: Virtual reality video Cowboys use is simple ‘like the iPhone’

IRVING – Wade Wilson took his first NFL snap in 1981 and played until 1999. Since 2007, he’s been coaching the Cowboys quarterbacks.

How much has film study changed during his time in the league?

“It’s immense,” he said. “We had film back in the day and the third quarterback had to splice the film. Now we have virtual reality and iPads and things like that. The technology is phenomenal.”

The virtual reality film room is the latest addition at Valley Ranch. The Cowboys are taking video from their 7 on 7 periods during organized team activities and allowing their QBs to watch a three-dimensional version through a VR headset.
