Tony Romo on a pitch count this offseason, but still tinkering with his mechanics to help his back

IRVING — For the first time since 2012, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has been a full participant in the club’s offseason.

Romo had two back surgeries eight months apart in 2013, with the last one coming in December of that year. Romo is coming off his best season as the Cowboys’ starting quarterback.

“It’s as healthy as he’s been probably since before his first surgery he had on his back,” Cowboys offensive coordinator Scott Linehan said Saturday. “He kind of puts himself on a little bit of a pitch count, how many throws. He gets a lot of work, a lot more work maybe than I anticipated.
