Tony Romo leaving CBS to rejoin the Dallas Cowboys

The last time Tony Romo was on a football field as the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys was January 1, 2017. Since then, the 14-year veteran passer has transitioned to a massively successful broadcasting career as a color commentator for CBS. But it was recently reported that Romo’s representatives were looking for a contract extension for a record $10 million a year.

Romo is currently in the midst of a three-year deal with CBS that pays him $4 million a year and runs through the end of the 2019 NFL season. The idea was floated that the former quarterback may decide to walk away from the booth completely if he didn’t receive a new extended contract.
