Other than not taking a running back and reaching for a player in the third round, Mel Kiper likes what the Dallas Cowboys did in this year’s draft.
Todd McShay praised their first and second round selections.
The ESPN draft analysts shared those thoughts during a Sunday conference call.
Regarding the running back situation, Kiper suggested the Cowboys should’ve drafted Michigan State’s Jeremy Langford in the third round instead of Florida offensive tackle Chaz Green, who he thought was “a little bit of a reach at that point.”
While breaking down the later round selections, Kiper said fifth round pick defensive end Ryan Russell and seventh-rounder Laurence Gibson, an offensive tackle, are “talented” but “underachievers” that need to be coached up.
