If you feel like it doesn't make sense to cut Dez Bryant in order to make room for Allen Hurns -- and that may or may not be what happens in the next month -- keep in mind that four years ago the Cowboys essentially cut DeMarcus Ware while making room for Jeremy Mincey.
Also consider the comparison between Hurns and Sammy Watkins, who signed for many millions more in Chicago. It was widely reported the Cowboys would have cut Bryant in order to pay Watkins when they pursued him. But as far as production is concerned, Watkins and Hurns each have one big 1,000-yard, 10-touchdown season (technically Watkins had nine) in 2015.
