The Cooper Rush era is here: Cowboys release veteran QB Kellen Moore

The Cooper Rush era is here.

At least at the backup quarterback spot, that is. And longtime Cowboys veteran QB Kellen Moore is out. Moore can still return as practice-squad eligible if he clears waivers, though.

The team announced Thursday afternoon they had released Moore, who was inactive Sunday vs. the 49ers as undrafted rookie Cooper Rush got his first career playing time in the regular season. Dallas also signed tight end Blake Jarwin to its active roster.

The Dallas Cowboys released QB Kellen Moore (Boise State) and signed TE Blake Jarwin (Oklahoma State) to the active roster from their practice squad on Thursday.
