TE James Hanna returns to Dallas for third opinion; Status to open season in doubt

James Hanna's status to open the regular season is in doubt.

Executive vice president Stephen Jones said the tight end has returned to Dallas to seek a third opinion on a knee that has kept him out of this training camp. Jones said the expectation is that Hanna will have a scope.

The injury opens the door for Geoff Swaim to join Jason Witten in the majority of the team's two-tight end sets.
