FRISCO, Texas – Lance Dunbar could very well be celebrating a homecoming on Sunday had things worked out differently in the offseason.
The Chicago Bears made an offer to Dunbar on a free-agent visit in the offseason, but the Dallas Cowboys chose to match it, giving Dunbar the chance to continue his career with the only team he has known, and more importantly, continue to rehab from his torn anterior cruciate ligament and patellar tendon injuries.
Bears general manager Ryan Pace was a teammate of Tony Romo’s at Eastern Illinois, so he had that connection to Dunbar.
