Stress fracture keeps Texas’ D’Onta Foreman out of drills

D’Onta Foreman had no idea he had a stress fracture in his left foot until it was discovered during medical checks at the NFL Scouting Combine. The University of Texas running back hoped still to compete in drills, including the 40-yard dash.

The NFL declined to let Foreman participate even after he offered to sign a waiver.

The fracture will heal on its own, and Foreman will participate in the Longhorns’ Pro Day on March 28, according to a source.

Foreman rushed for 2,028 yards, the second-most in school history, and scored 15 touchdowns on 323 carries.
