The Cowboys waived 20 players Saturday to get their roster down to 53. On Sunday, they worked on bringing some of that group back to their practice squad.
Quarterback Jameill Showers, running back Gus Johnson and cornerback Tim Scott will be added to the team’s 10-man practice squad, according to multiple sources.
Former Detroit Lions quarterback Kellen Moore will also reportedly be added to the team’s practice squad. Moore was signed as an undrafted rookie free agent by the Lions in 2012. Cowboys offensive coordinator Scott Linehan was Detroit’s offensive coordinator at the time Moore was signed.
