Commissioner Roger Goodell began his day with a 40-yard dash past the cubicles of employees at the NFL's New York offices.
He concluded it by listening to Jerry Jones state his case as to why he shouldn't have to reimburse the league for $2 million in legal fees.
Sources said Goodell conducted the hearing late Monday afternoon. It lasted one hour. No decision was rendered.
An NFL spokesperson said the league would have no comment. A Cowboys official also declined comment.
Goodell and the league is going after the Cowboys owner to pay for his attempt to derail the commissioner's contract extension and his support of Ezekiel Elliott's battle to overturn his six-game suspension.
