The Cowboys have no intention of offering more than a second-round draft pick for Earl Thomas and plan to go into Sunday's opener with their current roster, a source said.
The Cowboys' interest in Thomas remains strong. But the source stressed the team is comfortable enough with what's in place at the moment that it won't offer Seattle more than a second-rounder for the 29-year-old safety.
Does this mean any chance of the two sides striking a deal is dead? No. It simply means the Cowboys and Seahawks are willing to let this drama unfold a little longer.
