Going into the 2017 NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys had some major question marks in their secondary. They signed veteran Nolan Carroll as a stop gap player at cornerback, but he clearly was not the answer, as the former Eagle struggled in coverage, and was ultimately released just a quarter of the way through the season.
It appears the Cowboys have struck gold with third-round pick Jourdan Lewis, who has thus far been Dallas’ most promising rookie. Fellow first-year defensive back Chidobe Awuzie also looks like he has the chops to be a solid NFL player, but needs a little more seasoning.
