Setting up the Cowboys' draft board

IRVING, Texas -- The Dallas Cowboys currently have five selections in the April 28-30 NFL draft with the chance to add four more through compensatory picks.

The jewel of the picks is the fourth overall selection in the first round. The Cowboys have not picked this high since trading up to the No. 1 overall pick in 1991 with the New England Patriots to take Russell Maryland.

The Cowboys will also see a benefit from the Patriots this year. New England is without its first-round pick from the Deflategate investigation, which leaves the opening round with 31 selections.
