There was once a day when the Dallas Cowboys defense couldn’t function without Sean Lee on the field. That was a huge problem because Lee spent a lot of time off the field with various injuries. That issue no longer plagues the Cowboys as they have restocked the position with two of the best up-and-coming linebackers in the league, Leighton Vander Esch and Jaylon Smith. That duos ascension to the top of the charts had rendered Lee somewhat of an afterthought, so much so that for Lee to remain with the team he took a substantial paycut.
