Dallas Cowboys tight end Rico Gathers will not play in the season opener today against the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium.
Gathers, who was arrested in Frisco for marijuana possession the night before the Cowboys’ roster was set at 53, made the team and had practiced all week.
Other players who are inactive today are quarterback Mike White, safety Xavier Woods, defensive end Datone Jones, linebacker Chris Covington and centers Travis Frederick and Adam Redmond.
