Cowboys tight end Jason Witten is considering retiring to join ESPN's Monday Night Football crew, according to a report.
ESPN's Chris Mortensen dropped the stunner Friday morning, saying Witten is expected to meet with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones before formally announcing a decision either way.
Mortensen did not reveal the sources he was citing in his report.
Last week, Witten, who's a couple weeks from turning 36, said he'll be playing for the Cowboys in 2018.
"Maybe one day that will happen [landing a TV gig], but hopefully I can play until I'm 40 like some of these other guys.
