When 105.3 FM the fan radio host Ben Rogers made claims last month that he wouldn't be surprised if the Cowboys lured Jason Witten out of retirement, not many thought it was possible.
It turns out the Cowboys tried to make it happen.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that head coach Jason Garrett made multiple attempts to lure Witten out of retirement and help the Cowboys make a playoff push.
Witten retired prior to the start of this season and joined the Monday Night Football broadcast crew, following in his former teammate Tony Romo's footsteps of transitioning from the sideline to the broadcast booth.
