Jon Kitna has resigned as the head coach at Waxahachie High School after three seasons leading the program, according to a report from the Daily Light.
His resignation was announced early on Friday afternoon. But Kitna reportedly began telling members of his staff about the decision on Wednesday, Feb. 7.
Waxahachie ISD Athletic Director Greg Reed promoted Aaron Woods, the team's offensive coordinator, to the position of interim head coach.
Kitna, who spent the last two seasons of his 14-year NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys (2009-2011), was brought on to lead the Indians' football program in 2015.
