The Dallas Cowboys need to improve their defensive pass rush. Last season, America’s Team ranked 25th in sacks in the NFL with 31.0. With defensive ends Greg Hardy and Jeremy Mincey currently free agents, and second-year pass rusher Randy Gregory suspended for the first four games of the season due to violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, the Cowboys are thin along their already suspect defensive line.
The Cowboys recently added former Philadelphia Eagles run-stopper defensive tackle Cedric Thornton in free agency. And they have signed an offer sheet to obtain restricted free agent defensive end Benson Mayowa from the Oakland Raiders.
