Report: Cowboys LB Luke Gifford has ankle sprain, x-rays negative

In the second half of Saturday’s game in San Francisco the worst part of the preseason reared its ugly head when Dallas Cowboys linebacker Luke Gifford went down with an apparent leg injury.

Gifford had already made a name for himself on the night as he intercepted San Francisco quarterback Nick Mullens. It was the first interception of the preseason for the Cowboys.

Gifford’s apparent injury had supporters everywhere worried. He limped off and headed to the locker room, you never want to see that in the preseason.

As the second half began Dallas Cowboys sideline reporter Kristi Scales reported that Gifford has an ankle sprain and that x-rays were negative.
