Report: Chiefs set to visit with Cowboys free-agent TE Gavin Escobar

One of the Cowboys free agent's who's had a very quiet March so far appears to be receiving some interest now.

Tight end Gavin Escobar is scheduled to visit with the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Caplan.

Escobar hasn't delivered since Dallas drafted him in the second round of the 2013 draft out of San Diego State.

The Cowboys needed more than they got from Escobar in 2016, which has been the case for most of his tenure. He recovered faster than expected from suffering a torn Achilles tendon late in the 2015 season but had a hard time getting on the field even with tight end James Hanna out for the season to a knee injury and after tight end Geoff Swaim was lost for the season after tearing his right pectoral muscle in November against Pittsburgh.
