On draft day when fans expected to get a new star wide receiver, boos rained out inside AT&T stadium when the team selected Boise State linebacker Leighton Vander Esch. As if that wasn’t bad enough, news broke that their All-Pro center Travis Frederick had been diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a disorder in which the immune system attacks the body’s nervous system.
