NFL spokesman says Elliott’s lawsuit is an ‘uncontested Hail Mary’

The NFL is fighting back against a lawsuit filed by suspended Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott and NFL Players Association, alleging a league-orchestrated conspiracy to hide critical information, which would exonerate Elliott.

According to NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy, “the suit is an uncontested Hail Mary.”

The crux of the lawsuit is based on the NFL’s decision to seemingly silence lead investigator Kia Roberts, who, per a source, testified during the appeals hearing that she recommended no discipline for Elliott after finding his accuser Tiffany Thompson not credible. Elliott’s representatives specifically pointed out NFL Senior Vice President and Special Counsel for Investigations Lisa Friel in particular for allegedly muzzling Roberts.
