FRISCO, Texas – The legal developments continued in the Ezekiel Elliott case Friday, as reports surfaced that the NFL has filed an emergency motion for a stay of the injunction that is currently blocking the All-Pro running back’s six-game suspension.
According to NFL.com and multiple reports, the league has asked for a ruling by Sept. 26.
The league filed the motion with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, though Judge Amos Mazzant – who granted the injunction last Friday in a Texas district court – has not yet ruled on the league’s appeal for a stay.
