Nine starters didn’t take part in the team portion of practice for the Cowboys against the Rams on Monday due to injury.
That number grew to 10 when safety Barry Church was forced to the sidelines early in team drills and didn’t return. Jeff Heath worked in his place.
“He’s got some rib cartilage that he’s been dealing with,’’ executive vice president Stephen Jones said. “It’s kind of been popping in and out on him.
“We may give him a day or so to take a break from this.’’
Defensive tackles Nick Hayden and Tyrone Crawford, linebackers Rolando McClain and Anthony Hitchens and cornerbacks Brandon Carr and Orlando Scandrick were already ruled out before Church was forced to leave.
