IRVING – Third-year Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle had a front-row seat last year for the best rushing season in club history. Randle was the primary backup for 2014 NFL rushing champion DeMarco Murray.
With Murray having bolted this offseason for a bigger payday in Philadelphia, Randle is left competing against three other running backs for the starting job. Randle took some of the first-team repetitions at running back in practice Wednesday at Valley Ranch during the first week of organized team activities.
Randle is confident he can be part of the solution for replacing Murray’s 1,845 rushing yards.
