INDIANAPOLIS -- With the start of the league year coming March 9, Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones and Tony Romo are expected to meet "sooner rather than later," about the quarterback's future, according to executive vice president Stephen Jones.
Stephen Jones said a definitive meeting between Jerry Jones and Romo has not been set yet, nor are there scheduled plans to meet with Romo's agents, R.J. Gonser and Tom Condon, this week at the scouting combine in Indianapolis.
The Cowboys do not have to make a decision on Romo to get under the salary cap, but the hope is to have resolution quickly, either with a trade or release, so the team can begin its offseason plan for a backup behind Dak Prescott.
