ARLINGTON -- Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones declined to discuss DeMarcus Lawrence's contract situation on Tuesday, the first day NFL teams could place the franchise tag on players.
"I'm not going to get into any of our strategy, and it is strategic," Jones said following a news conference at AT&T Stadium to promote next month's championship boxing match between Errol Spence Jr. and Mikey Garcia. "DeMarcus is certainly a significant part of now and the future. But we're in the stages of planning on all of our personnel."
Lawrence tweeted last week "#TheyLying," causing some to speculate that he was referring to the Cowboys.
