Since Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo announced his retirement from football on Tuesday, tributes have rushed in for the long-time Dallas sports icon. Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant called Romo "unbelievable", former Cowboy Marcus Spears praised Romo the teammate and young Cowboys like Dak Prescott and Ezekiel expressed their appreciation for Romo's career.
But the one Cowboy who remained noticeably quiet was Romo's closest friend on the team, tight end Jason Witten. Witten finally broke his silence with a statement on Instagram celebrating Romo's career.
Witten first recalled how the two started their journey to the NFL together as rookies in 2003.
