During his 15 seasons here, no Dallas Cowboy was more reliable, or accountable, than Jason Witten.
So it came as no surprise to longtime local reporters when Witten made time Friday to field questions as he prepares to work his first Cowboys game as a member of ESPN's Monday Night Football crew.
Nor did it come as a shock that Witten offered a candid assessment of his first half-season of MNF work, which has drawn mixed reviews, some of which have been harsh.
"Even though you hear the noise, and anybody that says they don't is probably not telling the truth, I don't allow it to affect me because I feel like I'm going to be my own worst critic in that situation," Witten said.
