Jason Garrett on why the Cowboys offensive line coaching change had to be made

Offensive line coach Paul Alexander was fired seven games into his Dallas Cowboys’ tenure because head coach Jason Garrett felt it was the necessary move to get the team where it wanted to go.

The chance to rehire former offensive line coach Hudson Houck, 75, as a consultant to replacement coach Marc Colombo was an added incentive for Garrett to make the bye-week move.

“We just felt like for what we want to accomplish with our team this was the right move to make,” Garrett said. “And again, we felt like we had great answers for it.
