OXNARD, Calif. -- On Saturday night, the families of four of the five slain Dallas police officers, as well as Mayor Mike Rawlings and Police Chief David Brown had dinner with the Dallas Cowboys after their emotional entrance to the practice field.
Hours before the dinner, Garrett, his players as well as ownership walked onto the practice field arm-in-arm with the families, police and other civic members as a sign of unity after the tragedy that struck Dallas earlier this month.
Garrett was asked about the event at Sunday's news conference.
"I thought it was a really special day," the coach said.
