On Thursday, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said team officials wanted to make sure running back Darren McFadden would be “110 percent” when he begins practicing this training camp.
They weren’t lying. At the earliest, McFadden, who is on the physically unable to perform list with a hamstring injury, will not return to action until after Dallas plays San Diego in its preseason opener next Thursday. So tentatively mark Aug. 15 on your calendars for McFadden’s training camp debut.
“We anticipate his plan to be that he is going to get more and more work on the side this week and then hopefully practice after San Diego,” head coach Jason Garrett said Saturday.
