Since 2011, the Dallas Cowboys have selected five different players in the fifth round. Those names include Buffalo cornerback Josh Thomas, Virginia Tech wide receiver Danny Coale, Oklahoma State running back Joseph Randle, Pittsburgh wide receiver Devin Street and Purdue defensive end Ryan Russell.
Both Coale and Randle are now out of the league, while Thomas was recently re-signed by Dallas after he was originally released his rookie season during final cuts in 2011. The fifth-year corner joins Street and Russell on the Cowboys currently bloated roster.
Out of these three, a Cowboys insider choose one of these former fifth rounders as the team’s most improved player this offseason.
