ATLANTA -- The Dallas Cowboys, a spiraling mess at 3-5 not even two weeks ago, have clawed back to 5-5 and can, astonishingly, move into first place in the NFC East if they beat Washington (6-4) on Thursday in the annual Thanksgiving game at AT&T Stadium.
The remarkable turn of events comes after Dallas put together its first winning streak of the season, defeating Philadelphia last week and edging Atlanta, 22-19, on Sunday.
"It's for first place in the division," running back Ezekiel Elliott said of the Washington game after totaling 201 yards at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. "It means so much.
