How Taco can give Cowboys Super Bowl potential

FRISCO -- If you can't pressure the quarterback, you can't compete for Super Bowls.

And that lack of a pass rush has held the Cowboys back in recent seasons - ever since their Hall of Fame-bound pass rusher DeMarcus Ware departed for Denver, in fact.

But finally there is hope.

For the first time since 2007, the Cowboys selected a pass rusher in the first round of a draft, claiming Michigan defensive end Taco Charlton. He collected 9 ½ sacks in 2016 in his one season as a starter in the Big Ten. It's been a long time since the Cowboys have seen a pass rusher generate that many sacks in a single season.
