There was never a doubt that Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott would play in Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans.
Sure, he was banged up following a career-best performance in last Sunday’s 26-24 victory against the Detroit Lions leaving many to wonder how much he would practice this week, there was never a doubt he would play.
Even coach Jason Garrett said Wednesday morning that the plan for Elliott to be limited in practice and then see what he could do.
In the latest example of a maturing Elliott evolving from the team’s best players to one of its top leaders, the third-year star from Ohio State not only participated in all of practice Wednesday, despite ankle soreness and knee bursitis, but, according to him, he also had the best midweek practice of his career.
