INDIANAPOLIS -- While Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett and coordinators Scott Linehan and Rod Marinelli are all back for 2018, the team made 10 moves in all to shake up the rest of its coaching staff. The hire of Kris Richard, the former Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator, could have the biggest impact of them all.
Richard will be more than the secondary coach. He'll also coordinate the coverages played by the defensive backs and linebackers as the passing game coordinator, taking over for Matt Eberflus, who left to become Indianapolis' defensive coordinator. The Cowboys also want to tap into Richard's experience in Seattle, where he played a key part in shaping the famed "Legion of Boom" secondary.
