Here's why the Cowboys don't need a No. 1 wide receiver to make a Super Bowl run

FRISCO -- Wide receiver has always been a blind spot for Jerry Jones.

Every time the Cowboys have gone to a Super Bowl, they have taken a franchise wide receiver along with them. He was Hall of Famer Bob Hayes in 1970 and '71, 1970s NFL all-decade selection Drew Pearson in 1975, '77 and '78 and Hall of Famer Michael Irvin in 1992, '93 and '95. That go-to guy on the flank became a key element in those five Lombardi Trophies on display at The Star.

So it's understandable why Jones would feel a pressing need to have one on his roster at the start of each season to have a chance at a championship.
