Gone to heaven? Cowboys' O-line coach Paul Alexander sees the work to be done after poor showing in Washington

FRISCO -- Paul Alexander was at Scott Linehan's side as the two walked off the practice field.

A horde of reporters waited to descend. The majority surrounded Linehan, the Cowboys offensive coordinator, to inquire about Amari Cooper's arrival.

Alexander quietly veered off to the right and kept walking. The team's offensive line coach was a few steps from disappearing up the stairs before he was stopped by a small group of reporters.

"You caught me,'' Alexander said Thursday as he turned around and broke into a sly smile.

Alexander knew what was coming. Four months earlier, he told reporters he felt like he'd gone to heaven now that he had a chance to coach an offensive line as good as the Cowboys.
